No problem, it's a great idea and it deserves a star. These kind of questions should be asked more. BTW that is a great song, I've never heard it before but I like it.
The song I want to share is an underlooked classic, I think it's the first punk song ever recorded, it has the simple riff, the snotty vocals, the sneer and the punk attitude down 5 years before Iggy and The Stooges came along...and 10 years before the Ramones. Brilliant song.

*edit* I love that Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich song....what caught me especially was the drumming, and the drumming and beat sound similar to ELO'S "Don't Bring Me Down" which was recorded in the late 70s. Great song!
Here is an awesome Australian rock classic, that I doubt many people here in R&P have heard. It has a great vibe and feel to it.

*edit* I've heard alot of good things about Love, but haven't really listened to their music, I'll be sure to check them out now because that song is great...have to love the buildup and the bomb explosion towards the end!
Check out this little known Kinks classic, a B side mind you.

Also I wanted to throw in this Velvet Underground classic.

*edit* It's 12:21 am here in Australia
I really like the cover of the Lou Reeds "Sweet Jane" it sounds more introspective like that...and the song with the Who riff at the start is great. It was well incorporated into the song. Also the Music Machine song is awesome, it seems like The Ramones "borrowed" their style.
Can't have a 60s psychedelic theme without Donovan though!

"Yellow Ledbetter" made me think of "Last Kiss" because I think it's one of the better covers of a song from the 60s. Surprisingly, many people don't know that it's a cover, so I thought the original Wayne Cochran version was appropriate. It's from the 60s, but not the acid-and-tie-dye sixties--the clean-cut-Vietnam-is-far-away 60s.

Then, while I was listening to it, my mind wandered off on the fact that when "he" woke up, the rain was falling down, which made me think of something more along the vibe of the night:

And the black and white hippie stuff led me here:

That made me think of my aunt and uncle. They lived on Haight Street in San Francisco, less than a block from its intersection with Ashbury. And yes, that's where they were from about '65 to '72, so they saw all the good stuff. My uncle used to be a professional chef, and that made me wonder if anyone is up at their house at this ungodly hour--I could drive down there and get a heavenly breakfast...
Love the groovy 60's stuff here...great way to serve up some tasty tunes from the Psychedelicatessen!
The Aimee Mann is a favorite one of mine this year... "Freeway" has that unique & mellow, but rich and rockin' sound of hers.
I'm gonna rock out a bit here and add one from a man who knows how to make his guitar talk...(move over Jimi!)
youtube hint: add these characters to the end of the string to enhance many of the tunes there... &fmt=18
(edit: Jack Bruce's vocals unmistakable...very cool tune, you must have read my file!)
