Idiot Kid whoa! Panic at the Disco those covers wow!. I love the originals.
I would have to say this is one of the worst covers in history. Everything she covers is well not very good. She did a horrible job on Coldplays' song.

Avril Lavigne-"The Scientist"

May you all have a goodnight or good day depending on your time zone. :)
Hi!
It's midnight here, so I might fall asleep at some point...
Oh, thanks for the brownie!
Hey, I have a band for anyone who likes folk rock...anybody know Carbon Leaf? My cousin dated the lead singer...here's a link to one of their more popular songs.

Ah, Paperbag, I love The Good, The Bad, And The Queen! Herculean is really good.
Let's bring some different media in here. Anybody read the new Lennon bio? How about Steal This Book? I downloaded it illegally, lol.
I've had this song stuck in my head all day, ever since I watched Breakfast Club the other day and realized this was the song at the very end.

HELLO GOODBYE
The Whigs - "Violet Furs"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKx3T_XSQL8
I mentioned in an earlier question that I wish I'd talked about them more, so this is a good opportunity!
And I've had eggnog for the first time tonight. I don't know how I feel about mixing alcohol with eggs and milk though. It sounds so disgusting that I can't properly enjoy it...
And I've never watched all of "The Lost Boys". I'm planning on watching "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" in a little while, though.
----
Paperbag: I haven't seen it all the way through, so I want to see how he pulls it together. But now that you've said that, I'm not as excited to see the movie. :(
Idiot Kid: I -love- The Royal Tenenbaums, but I haven't seen "Rushmore". I'll add it to my list. (Lol, I have over 100 movies on it right now).
olive: Love it. LOVE it, love it.. I think my new favorite that they sing is their cover of "Venus in Furs" (which I'm pretty positive you've heard before ;D): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4CQEruH1JQ
Penny Lane: That is one of The Foo Fighters best music videos (and that's really saying something. They're geniuses when it comes to their videos--as well as music, of course).
------
I want to see "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," too. And "The Spirit". But I will be -furious- if Hoffman takes the award for Best Supporting Actor. Furious.
----
Scout: I was thinking about that movie earlier today! My favorite teen movie from the 80s. :D And I adore its song.
----
Penny Lane: I agree--the best scene from that movie. And...the manager looks spectacularly like Chris Cornell, in my opinion. (I'm going to feel stupid if it is him...)
-----
Idiot Kid: "Requiem for a Dream" was directed by Darren Aronofsky, who also directed "The Fountain". Both movies are ranked in my top ten. I've heard great things about "Pi", too, but have yet to see it.
----
Paperbag: Wait...what's this about the Che? They're making a new movie with Benicio del Toro?! Are you -serious-?
Sabrina: Lol--what a great song! (Strawberry Alarm Clock's Rainy Day Mushroom Pillow). A great song, with an even better title. : )
------
olive--I've loved this band ever since you asked a question about them the other day. Thanks!
Here's a song I found today. I can definitely hear some 'Dylan' in there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-i1Js32hCA&feature...
-------
I may cry. That movie looks absolutely fantastic.
------
Punch Drunk: I love you for the song (big NMH fan). But I hate you for your encounter with del Toro, lol. (HUGE del Toro fan).
Hey....sorry I'm late, I reached my answering limit on my other account. So I have to use this one. Nice to see all my contacts here!
I wanna give a bit of a tribute to Michael Hutchence, who I think was one of the greatest vocalists ever...not just his work in INXS, but his solo work and his work with Max Q.

Alright I want to post some more Michael Hutchence work before I have to go cook up some dinner. I'll be on later though, so everyone keep posting music!

Hello, so I guess we just post some of our favorite songs and/or videos. Ok, I'm going to offer up some Foo Fighters.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68qqyM-_K4w&feature...
And right now I'm listening to Light My Fire by The Doors (media player is on shuffle).
And dang it now I have a huge craving for brownies.
Edit: here is another song some might enjoy by Pearl Jam, let me know if you like it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXISm3JjYU0
**I hope you got a laugh out of the FF video.
And yes, I love The Life Aquatic and Lost Boys both great movies. You've got to love Owen Wilson and Bill Murray.
Most people should enjoy this, this is one of my favorite scenes from my favorite movie, Almost Famous:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Qn3tel9FWU
TSR, I concur about the FFs, they are real geniuses.
**Ok, couldn't keep from it, isn't this one of the most awesome videos from The Beatles?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ywg-PdeGVL0
Paperbag, Wes Anderson is pretty awesome isn't he. I've seen all of his movies too and I haven't disliked any of them. However, I must confess that as pretty as Natalie Portman is, seeing her naked in The Darjeeling Limited kind of freaked me out a little. She is super skinny, I never noticed it b/c I'd only seen her fully clothed up until than.
I want to see Che, I've always found him very interesting. For anybody who hasn't seen The Motorcycle Diaries you should check it out. It is a wonderful movie that lets you see Che before he was Che (if that makes sense).

Hi.
My name's David and I'm new to this... and an alcoholic.
***
We just post songs, right?
Here's The Good, the Bad & the Queen (a supergroup fronted by Blur's Damon Albarn) with "Nature Springs" -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kku7qVzai3c
"I don't believe in an afterlife, although I am bringing a change of underwear."
-- Woody Allen
***
T.S.R., I was disappointed by "Life Aquatic." Wes Anderson's worst film, IMO. It has positive qualities though: Bill Murray, the Portuguese Bowie covers, the colorful animated fish, and Bill Murray.
***
Thanks for the song, Punch.
***
Here's The Cribs with an indie anthem -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QpkuxPJ-8A
Hey scenesters!
***
I've seen all of Wes Anderson's films. Here, I'll rank 'em:
1. The Royal Tenenbaums
2. The Darjeeling Limited
3. Rushmore
4. Bottle Rocket
5. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
***
On a related note, can I just say I'm a massive movie buff. lol I see so many movies, it's absurd.
I want to see six movies over the holiday break.
12/25: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Valkyrie
12/27 (my birthday!): Frost/Nixon, The Spirit
...and Doubt and The Reader as well, I have to catch those.
***
Dig on some Vampire Weekend -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wHl9qRsMzw
***
Punch -
You've seen the movie Doubt already, right? I'm excited to see it over the holiday break. It opens here Christmas Day. It seems very... powerful.
It's strange P.S. Hoffman is being nominated for Best SUPPORTING Actor everywhere though. He seems to be the lead.
***
I know this is a music deal, but I have one more movie-related comment. lol Has anyone else seen Slumdog Millionaire? It's INCREDIBLE.
The trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIzbwV7on6Q
And a song featured in the movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqlY0VOFtyA
***
Thanks for the Arctic Monkeys, Punch. Fantastic song, of course.
"I exist. It is soft, so soft, so slow. And light: it seems as though it suspends in the air. It moves."
-- Jean-Paul Sartre
***
Hoffman won't win T.S.R. Ledger has it tied up big time. Everyone else nominated will have to settle for "it's an honor to be nominated." lol
***
"Idiot," Bottle Rocket is very good. A bit rough around the edges (as most first movies are), but extremely well-written and entertaining.
***
You ******* are ignoring the question I put up (lol), so I'll put this here.
The BEAUTIFUL new Springsteen single: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OSvJvSwmd4
Listen to it! I swear, it's an emotional tour de force.
***
So far, I believe the best lead-male performance of the year is Sean Penn in Milk. But I've yet to see Frost/Nixon, The Wrestler, or Revolutionary Road (Leo's my favorite actor). Oh, Colin Farrell was brilliant in In Bruges... a gem of a movie.
***
T.S.R., Pi is very good. Very interesting, intense little movie.
***
Punch -
I love Sean Penn. Into the Wild was superb. Actor, director, rabblerouser... he does it all very well.
Though I thought he should have the won the Oscar for 21 Grams instead of Mystic River. Oh, 21 Grams... devastating, powerful movie too few have seen. Benicio del Toro is a powerhouse. I can't wait to see Che, either as one epic or a pair of shorter releases.
Here's a good winter-themed song from McCartney's Wings band. "Winter Rose/Love Awake" -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkAunsJ1TJs
***
God is a man and he plays acoustic guitar very well -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0_j_x0tqOo
***
Glasvegas, a wonderful indie group, is wondering where "Daddy's Gone."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vpkq4vl1vk
***
T.S.R., it's already been made. Here's the story:
It's directed by Steven Soderbergh (Traffic, the "Oceans" trilogy) and stars Benicio del Toro and Catalina Sandino Moreno.
It debuted at the Cannes Film Festival in May and and IFC acquired the distribution rights. The film exists both as a single 235 minute epic simply called "Che" (which is currently playing in NYC and Los Angeles and will then tour as a roadshow) and as separate films titled "Che Part 1: The Argentine" and "Che Part 2: Guerrilla" (which will be released in most theatres).
So complicated. lol I'm dying to see it though. I love the director and star, plus the subject couldn't be more fascinating.
Here's the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofzTd2U_LwA
***
I dig the Elton Motello tune, Punch.
***
Punch can't post in here. lol Strange.
I wonder what he meant when he called del Toro sleepy. As in "I've been doing long press junkets and am dead tired" sleepy or "quiet, slightly dull" sleepy. lol At least Punch didn't say he was an ****** though. lol
The Lost Boys! Keifer Sutherland wasn't too bad looking as a vampire. Haha.
Here's what I'm listening to right now: http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=EYbUCvz1LYE
Hey, what's in the brownie?
EDIT: Life Aquatic is good! I love Bill Murray, almost as much as I love Wes Anderson. Have you seen The Royal Tenenbaums or Rushmore?
Paperbag: I've been curious about Bottle Rocket. How good was it?
It seems like they are coming out with good movies lately. I need to go movie hopping after christmas...
Also, I have a question for anyone who knows...who directed Requiem For A Dream?
If you liked Royal Tenenbaums, like Elliott Smith, and find really stupid things funny...http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=5oEYMGL0ZtA&feature=...
T.S.R: Thanks. I've been thinking about getting Pi and Requiem For A Dream from amazon...they have a double feature dvd for like thirteen bucks.
I'll randomly bring myself back to music. Here's a really hilariously terrible cover song, if you think you can handle it (I'm not even trying to be biased. It gets worse as it goes on): http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=3V4cMAWSAc4&feature=...
THEN I look over, just now at the related videos, and see another attrocity commited by the same band: http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=vzk53JK7E2Y&feature=...
(I just realized all my youtube links go to youtube in a different language..what's up with that?)
That Avril Lavigne cover was terrible! Check out this Free Falling cover: http://br.youtube.com/watch?v=nUKdURi9Yew&feature=...
Also, M.I.A did a cover of Pixies' Where Is My Mind? and it was BAD. But I can't find it on youtube.
