an easy way to learn Spanish, is to practice speaking what you know already. Like when you talk to your friends or family, speak in Spanish so you'll get used to, pay attention in Spanish class and listen to conversations that Spanish speakers are having. As you listen see if you overhear any words you know or learned and piece them together to see if you can figure out what it is. yes, it's eavesdropping but hey if it helps you, who cares. Also if you have Hispanic/Latino friends, speak some Spanish to them and get them to reply to you. doing this helped me to learn more Spanish so I could get more in touch with my culture.
I am still learning myself, and will eventually be taking classes. But, I started off by learning important verbs that you would probably use a lot. Then I focused on learning vocabulary, like things you see a lot in your home or food items on a menu. If I can say it in spanish then I do just to gt used to speaking. Keep practicing and learning new words, because it does help.
