I have 6 kids, all are amazing in their own way: 3 are college graduates, and are honest, but one is not! SHE IS serial shoplifter! I see tons of stuff she could never afford and know she still its! she’ll have top make up lines, clothes from a store we were looking in the day before. And 5 pair of the same sunglasses. I beg her to stop and she says she has--or is quiet and says nothing.
She has a good job and this would really embarras her when WHEN she is finally caught!
Plus as a christian I fear when God finally catches up with her.
I cannot afford to bail her out when she IS FINALLY CAUGHT.
Her name will be in paper, she’ll have a record
and shes now 9 months pregnant
I am so upset

Shoplifting is psychological disorder and may be resolved with the appropriate mental health treatment.
Shoplifting is often associated with mental health complications indicative of bipolar disorder and ADHD. Because ADHD is characterized by impulsivity and a lack of focus, many adults who live with uncontrolled ADHD find way to alleviate impulsivity and stimulate the brain by engaging in risky behavior. When managed with medication, the impulsivity and stimulate of the reward pathway of the brain can be alleviated, thereby reducing the risk for engaging in shoplifting.
With bipolar disorder, the manic phase is often attributed to excessive shopping and spending of money. In the manic phase, the reward pathway of the brain, again, is in desire of stimulation and many bipolar adults will turn to risky behavior and even go so far as to get themselves into debt during mania. Understanding this, shoplifting may seem like a viable option and lead to legal implications.
Shoplifting is a complex mental health complication that imposes legal risk in the lives of adults who live with the impulsive nature to engage in such behavior. It may be prudent to speak with a health care professional about the possible testing for ADHD and bipolar disorder. When confirmed, medication combined with psychotherapy can be effective at managing symptoms and aid in avoiding shoplifting in the future.
