I think it's great that you're trying to get some info out to people. There were a couple who criticized you instead of understanding your question. The fact is this it costs $40,000 a year to house a prisoner. A GED isn't free for everyone. Our children do deserve to have money spent for their education. I didn't hear you say that prisoners need to be treated bad. You stated, it seems, that why have so many prisons closed within a few years? The non-violent offenders are let out. There have been a few of those non-violent offenders that ended up committing violent crimes. One guy killed his ex in front of his 3 yr old. Two killed the jeweler in Livonia in his home along with his family, and then there was Selepak. So yes you have the facts.......it's a shame people didn't want to learn the facts. Lock your doors, because there is even less room now to house more offenders. And why spent up to a million to renovate one prison so you can close another? Are all ex cons bad? No, but the state doesn't do a good job rehabilitating. And when there is few jobs to choose from it sets people up to fail. But hey, Plymouth will be free of prisons. One closed 3 yrs ago and now the other!!! hmmmm....Good job on trying to inform people!!!!
