I asked a simple question earlier and all I got were troll answers. Maybe my brother was right to become a complete recluse from society. If people are trying to purposely incite a flame war then humanity is probably doomed to early extinction.

I used to just escape into the woods when things got bad but circumstances changed and I wasn’t able to do that anymore. It’s a dangerous world. This country in particular, where corporate greed and the profit motive supersede almost all considerations of compassion and humanity, is a brutal place...(definitely here in CT where I live) ... You just have to try to protect yourself and your children, if you have any, or other loved ones from the powers that be who only see your life as an opportunity for profit, and don’t even give a second thought to destroying it. Self protection...that’s about it. Question authority and the motives of those who adopt the veneer of civility and have mastered the appropriate social graces, but would take everything you have and leave you shattered and broken for their own economic gain if given the opportunity.
Some days I would say, Nope.
nope......we're doomed
Hope for what? That we will all live in peace and harmony? Nope. Hope that there are still good people in the world, yes.
if by hope you mean extinction id say yes
Everything ends eventually. If humanity doesn't die, then it will die with the universe dies, but life always comes back. That's because everything is cyclic, so even the universe goes out and then comes back in the next nanosecond.
God has turned people against each other.
They cower like frightened women.
Some turn to astrologers... those who stare at stars... to get advice.
Some go to mediums to try to get the dead to give advice to the living.
After many fruitless searches, some will seek Him out and they will be His people, and He will be their God.
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." That exclusive statement by Jesus rules out all man-made efforts to get to God, and therefore, ultimately, heaven.
The way to God is a PERSON, not a religion.
"I am the way."
"I am the door."
"I am the gate."
Test these claims Jesus made about Himself. He is the only way into God's Kingdom: Jesus is the one and only real-life PORTAL into this spiritual dimention... a fourth dimention. His kingdom on earth.
The cross is a spiritual 'black hole' for the world's sins, crimes and evil.
Any organization that makes the (ridiculous) claim "You need Jesus PLUS US to get to heaven." is not from God. Jesus is all you will ever, ever need.
"Come to me all you who are burdened and weary and I will give you rest for your souls. Take My yoke upon you; for My burden is easy, and My yoke is light."
Do this and live..
Do it today.
Tomorrow may be too late.
Probably better answered as a non-black-and-white question.
Simply reviewing the events of the last 120 years (fin de siecle), hundreds of millions of mostly-good humans suffered death by their own government (Germany, Russia, present People's Republic of China, Cambodia, Rwanda, Yugoslavia), as well as horrendous sufferings in warfare, famine, pestilence, etc., etc.
Millions of preborn humans' opportunities for life were denied by their own mothers.
Great financial burdens (plutocratic and socialistic) imposed on the many by the few.
Yet, in the past three decades (1990-present), extreme poverty (people living on <$2/day, U.S. 2011 dollars) has gone from 50% in South Asia to <20%; in East Asia and Pacific, from >60% to <5% (truly wonderful, ~ = to Europe and Central Asia rate of <4%), and the World as a whole from ~36% to ~12%.
Types of WMD have proliferated from pre-WWI days to the present.
A new techno-based tyranny, that of cyber surveillance of the masses, is a reality in China and elsewhere.
So, it's a mixed bag, and the tendency even in the 20th century has been something like this: as wealth increases for the many, elites develop to control both the wealth and the culture of the many. In times of crisis, as The Mikel and AlParker60 and others observe, there are types of shifts or chaotic, destructive conditions.
Imho, the tragedy is that the many sheeple are without much awareness of God, and without sufficient strength of character.
i would hope so
