If you're going to game, you really need to consider the graphics processing unit as well, not just CPU. But considering that the computer is an Alienware, I suppose that's already covered.

Whether or not it's worth it is up to you, but I would be perfectly content with that processor.

Only if you're a hardcore HD video editor or are running 3D model renderings. Only tasks like that where every bit of cpu is consumed for long periods of time justify buying the highest end processor. Most users will be just as happy with a fast dual core i5 in their laptop. The difference between 5% and 10% cpu loading is insignificant from a user viewpoint. It's only when you max the processor out, and keep it that way for long periods of time, that you really appreciate the extra cores and speed.

I will say that with an MSRP of $527 I'm not rushing out the door to buy one myself...

My "Hand-Me-Down" Q9450 works well enough for me...

3.0gb GT 555M is no faster then a 1gb GT 555M.

i7 2630qm with the GTX 560M would be the best.
