In a situation in which both are contingent and plausible: «universe with God» and «universe without a God»?

Shouldn't the rational and scientifically minded person just apply the Principle of Parsimony/Occam's Razor and eliminate the extra unnecessary presumption? In this case «God»?

Regardless the fact there is a God or not. I'm talking about keeping a scientific mind in all we do, in spite of the intellectually honest mistakes we make once in a while.
