ask a specialist dr.
As always attention whoring questions about childish and irrational fears go in the mental health section.
Also adding that I’m 15 and never experienced this before and this is why I’m asking
The lymphatic system, which is part of the immune system, does a lot more than show signs of cancer. An fairly ordinary infection, which may or may not have already run its course, can do that too, as well as the serious but rare things you've read about. Other symptoms along with it are the best indication that something is actually wrong and should be seen by a doctor.
I get the impression that you're young. I seriously doubt that it's cancer because cancerous lymph nodes in the neck usually indicate that the cancer has spread there from the mouth or throat. Oral and throat cancers are usually caused by decades of alcohol or tobacco abuse...or sometimes by the STD known as human papilloma virus (HPV). Even if you've been exposed to HPV, it can take more than 10 years to turn into cancer...if it ever does!
I'm no doctor but my guess would be either normal reactive lymph nodes or possibly "branchial cleft cysts". These are benign congenital (present since birth) defects that usually don't make their presence known until adolescence or the teen years. Whatever it is I doubt that it's cancer!
Ask your Doctor for a referral, to go and see a specialist for an ultrasound. The majority of lumps and bumps are benign but IF it is malignant, doing something about it right away could be the difference life and death!
Up to you!
Just a thought, but heaven forbid if it IS cancer then burying your head in the sand wont make it go away!
