Alright so, Wednesday is the first day of school. I’m going to be taking Spanish 1, and since I’m in the 11th grade, I will most likely be the oldest person in the class. The reason I waited so late to take Spanish, was because I wanted to wait as long as I could until I got out of high school so I could remember more of the language. I’m pretty sure I won’t be the only 11th grader taking Spanish 1, but I don’t want to be in a class with a bunch of freshman and sophomores.
What should I do?
Update:@opie babezz: like I said to the other person, I have to take the class to graduate.

Just take it. I'm taking Spanish 2. The class is filled with 6th graders through 10th graders, and one senior.
It doesn't matter, it's just one period of the day.
I'm the youngest person in my Math class o.o
It's one period of the day, and who cares if a majority of the class will be younger than you.. your taking the class to learn, not to be surrounded by people your age. Just have your main focus in the class being to do your best so you will pass the class and be able to move onto spanish two the next year. In my friend's spanish 1 class last year (she was a sophomore) there were people that were even seniors so don't worry about anything.
Just be your self. i feel the same way, in middle school i was forced to take spanish in 7th grade you remember alot of stuff when you take it late so i think its a great idea. and also if your the oldest in the class i think more students would look up to you it might seem a little bad being in a class with a bunch of freshmans but remember you were once a freshman.
Last year-10th grade- I took a class with all freshmen, except for two other sophomores. It was alright. They seemed a little immature, but not too bad. They aren't really different than you-not above you; not below you. So just treat them like equals. Odds are, you will learn at a quicker pace than some, and some will learn at a quicker pace than you. Good luck; I loved Spanish 1, but I didn't learn much; the teacher was Way lenient.
There is nothing wrong with being in classes with kids slightly younger than you. You're only there to learn the language, not worry about your classmates.
You might even make a friend with one of the freshmen/sophomores.
well hey, i'm in Gifted, its a class for smart ppl =P
and this year im in 8th grade, and they only have one class for 6-8, so i will be stuck with a bunch of 6th and 7th graders? how do you think i feel? just get to know them, you might find they could be cool. a year or two doesnt matter.
They're not that much older. ONLY one or two years. I took spanish one Junior year. Not a big deal.
It was actually fun being the oldest.
Nothing, except pay attention and study hard - who care how old the other students are, just worry about your self and how well you will do in this class.
theres not much you can do. go be the kid in the class all the freshmen gawk at because they think your *so cool*. haha, most likely no one will care. suck it up and take the class.
Don't worry, I'll be the YOUNGEST in my Spanish 1 class. :D
Just take advantage of it.
