Last year was my Ninth Grade year, and I didn’t have any AP classes. I’ve always enjoyed learning, but I procrastinated and never applied myself. Since maybe third grade, I’ve always gotten C’s because I had no idea what kind of life I was looking for. This year is the first year I haven’t had a C. I’ve had a Pre- Ap English course once, but... I didn’t do well because I was sick frequently and again I procrastinated.
I now have two Pre-Ap and a real AP class. I am also looking to go to Arkansas School of Mathmatics, Science, and Art. I’ve had a realization that I enjoy learning and studying, I have a need to better my life and make something of myself. But, because of my past inefficiency, I have a feeling I will not realize this dream of going to this school.
It’s one of the top schools in Arkansas. Without a doubt I know if I did make it there, I would thrive.
This year, I need to make straight A’s to build my case to get into this school. What should I know about AP classes, and what things have you done to adapt?

AP is basically college level courses, I've taken a few myself and it is tough work, but it is worth it in the long run. The exams to validate what you learned (for college credit) are brutal so you'll need to put most of your time and effort into your AP courses. Since you are gonna take several AP courses I suggest you pay close attention to everything. The classes are fast paced so you'll probably want to stay before or after school (for some classes) and ask about what you don't understand. Do not procrastinate, consider these courses a privilege.
Pre-AP is obviously not as hard as an AP class, but that will help you for future AP endevours, Don't take the courses lightly though. After the first couple of weeks of handling your schedule you'll find a rhythm to things and believe it or not things wont seem as hard. Good luck
