Hello, so I’m a highschool junior and am trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. I’ve always wanted to be an actress since I was seven. It’s my dream. Along with acting, I’ve always loved to draw, paint, do photography, and learn about music. I’m naturally attracted to art. However, I’m very scared to pursue anything artistic because of how hard those fields are to be successful in. For a while, I’ve been leaning toward just majoring in psychology and becoming a psychiatrist. I like helping people and listening to their problems, but I’m worried that if I pursue this, I’ll always have a longing feeling. I think I could be happy in both, but if I had to choose between them, with guaranteed success, I would choose acting in a heartbeat.
I know I have time to figure it out, “I’m only 17,” but I’m trying to figure out what kind out school to apply to, an art school, or an ordinary Uni.?

Your only 17 once! If it keeps you awake at night, calls out to you at every hour from the pit of your stomach when you are not involved. I say go for it! Fight for it with extreme prejudice to all that opposes(except those you love).
