I can't really post this anywhere else. I've been in my industry 19 years. Started with a new company a year and a half ago. First review I get a great review. Then get told company protocol is no raises. Just a 2% COLA that everyone gets. So the girl on probation and I get the same 2%. Worked remotely on vacation from my hotel because the team was slammed. Today I call in sick. Fever, aches, chills, cough. Flu is going around. My boss is burning up my cell phone. Oh, and I'm on salary. So all that extra time is unpaid. And this is one of the better companies I have worked for. Can't I be sick one day?

Majority of the corporate world (which younseem to know nothing about) gives everyone the same percentage raise
Common practice at every place I have ever worked and that's many times your 9 years
Don't answer your cell phone when he calls. Let it go to voice mail.
Not when you are on salary - on call.
You HAVE NOT been working in the corporate would for 19 years and what you describe qualify as one of the better jobs you have had.
Sure you can be sick for one day.
When I'm actually too sick to go to work, I'm generally in bed with sleeping blinders on.
P.S. I fail to see how they can't seem to get along without you for even one day. I have 43 employees and I know I've done my job when the place runs A-OK even in my absence. If the place falls apart, I know I have an organization/training/communication problem. It sounds like you need to train a back-up person so that your information/projects can be accessed and your tasks accomplished even when you're not there.
On salary, you get paid for time you don't work too...
Turn off the phone. If needed take out the battery.
Perhaps your boss has a few specific questions that cannot wait...I'd answer, just don't do any work if you aren't up to it...but you can take a phone call.
