Hi can someone help me understand how pass or fail classes will affect my gpa? I understand that it is supposed to not affect your gpa but I get confused because one of my classes I have to have a letter grade and the other one is pass/fail.
If I have a 98 in anatomy and a pass in algebra, how would my gpa be calculated? It’s just 2 classes this semester.
Thanks much

The P grade does not factor into your GPA at all. You will get credit for that class toward graduation, but there will be no "GPA hours" associated with that class. If you have 2 classes and you get an A in one and a P in the other, then you will have a 4.0 GPA for the semester.
If the school says that pass/fail will not affect your GPA, it means that it won't be calculated. Your GPA will come from classes you had in previous semesters and whatever you get a grade in now. So only the 98 will factor in.
