yeah I just got my hair layered, and they use a razor. And it kinda looks like a metal comb that has really sharp tips. But yeah you can just go to a salon and ask to get your hair layered or spiked at the end. What I did was a printed a picture from the web of the hair style that I wanted, and brang it to the salon with me. Then you can show it to the hair stylist let her know exactly what you want.
