Just two hours ago. We went to a fish market to buy fish for dinner and my dog jumped over the gate and followed us two blocks and went inside the fish market with us and we kept yelling and saying kisses noises to keep him following us so he wouldnt get ran over by tons of cars and the people just kept lookin at us and I could see that they thought the dog was following us...which he was!
He followed us back home....which he ran four blocks with tons of cars that we were so freakin orried and happy that he didnt get ran over. How can we stop this????? He keeps jumping over the gate and my dad built a new taller gate two years ago and he still can jump over that. How?????? Its embarssing and worrying.

Why the heck do you not stop and put him in the car instead of letting him chase you down and possibly have him become a slush puppy. Why do you not put him in the house when you leave? Dogs left outside can be stolen or poisoned. Also, why did it only take 2 blocks to get to the fish market but 4 blocks to get home? Why once at the market you didnt put him in the vehicle and why the hell did they allow a dog in the market? There are regulations against this atleast where I live. If you are aware of such a problem why not have a leash in your care. Why not tie the dog up. Not sure I believe your question or do you honestly not think things threw. Simple solution is tie the dog up...put in the house...put in the house in a crate...or make the dang gate higher and where its not able to climb it.
A good old collar and chain works. There are better ways to do it to but they cost big bucks. I am having a simlar problem every time I get up to anywhere in the house my dog is sure to follow. I will keep lookin at the answers to find a solution to.
You have to teach him to stay, one thing that worked for me is having some one from your family holding him with a leash and the other person calling him then in a stern voice say no and stay, keep doing that until he understands and if that does not work keep him in the back yard or locked up he can really get hurt, good luck! or trying going here
He may not be able to jump the fence but he can dig a hole to get to the other side. It depends on how big the dog is. You may want to consiter getting a cage to put the dog in when you go places. Make sure you lock it though!!
Good Luck!!
1). try taking him with you on a leash.
2).put plywood way over the gate... or something he cant climb.
3)put dog in side house when you go out.
4).tie dog in back yard when you go somewhere.
this is up to you not the dog !
good luck :)
i'm happy you're addressing this project now in the previous it gets worse. i've got considered many cases the place the dogs is going into marvel by way of fact it particularly is been separated from it particularly is proprietor.. rather detrimental rather :[ i might could pass with a number of the different solutions right here... play together with her extra and burn out her ability. don't get discouraged whilst she wines, proceed to miss approximately it. You toddler has to benefit the thank you to self soothe. as quickly as I had my puppy, I positioned her up in her crate at night to sleep. For a jointly as she'd whine to get out. What I did to get her to end grew to become into scare her. As detrimental as that sounds, it helps. i might get a tin can and fill it with unfastened replace and throw it at her crate whilst she began to wine. She finally assosiated her whining to that terrible sound, and she or he stopped. dogs will do virtually something to get interest. What you're doing is giving her the attention she needs once you supply in. Please do no longer. do no longer supply up. in case you do no longer handle this occasion quickly, it gets worse. good success!
awwwww your dog really loves you a lot. you should buy a stake and a leash so when you leave, right before you go, just put him on the leash attached to the stake so he can't leave the backyard. just remember to take him off the leash when you get back so he can show you how much he missed you.
Sounds like you need to teach your dog some basic commands like sit, stay and come. It takes time but well worth the effort.
Crate train him! Was the best thing I ever did for my pups!
Tie him up before you leave.
