how can I recover the ORIGINAL software on my computer-without having any of the cd´s?
Last year my computer ran great-I left town for a month,my roomate had someone load it up in spanish,then I had it redone,but then microsoft said it was bootleg,they fixed it.Then I came back last month and my new roomate had someone mess with it.........now its half spanish half english-and trashed.Also bootlegged.It wont let me do much-including check my answers when they get e-mailed.I posted the pop up I get in spanish-hoping some one could help-but yahoo kicked it off-dont know why.But I cant down load updates or programs,nothing...........my e-mail is [email protected]

without the Windows recovery CD, it is tuf to recover or restore ur system..Ur only option is to format the drive and reinstall from a friends CD and use the KEy u had got and then install it...
The key is legal ans os its ok...

HAve you tried system restore?
start--->programs--->Accesories--->System Tools--->System Restore
It can go back to an earlier date and everything that came after that date is gone (like it never happened).
Then I would seriously put a password on it so no one can mess with it. For that just go to User accounts and follow the prompts.

if its an OEM PC such as HP, they may have a restore partition and to use it you may have to hit F1 or something as it starts. When you turn it on see if it has an option to enter the restore menu.
You could also try system restore under Start > Prorgams > Accessories > System Tools > System restorer and go back to a date before it happened
I realized that you don't need any CD'S that come with your PC except your OS operating system CD because all the other Cd's like drivers and software will always become obsolete very quickly and I just download all up to date stuff on line all free, which is my favorite word ;)
Just reformat the comp and install a new program -you could get it bootleged or buy it or borrow it from someone. And don't let your roommate near your comp again.
Little hint don't leave your computer there or lock it up. and if you can take your computer back with system restore to the day you left.
go to system restore and restore it to the earliest date or software update
do system recovery . i think the way its used is when you turn on your computer , press F10.
