What the founding fathers did not say is that rights also bring responsibilities. For example to have "Freedom of Religion" you need to ensure that all religions have freedom and not just the one you follow.
"Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks,"(Matthew 12:34).
People should not have restrictions placed upon their hearts. If they are evil, I would like to know about it. Most evil spreads by masquerading as goodness or enlightenment, (2 Corinthians 11:14). The more we sanction and censor speech from being heard, the more we are surrounded by smiling evil hypocrites, the most charismatic of which end up being followed as 'good' people. They eventually cause disasters or chronic conditions of oppression, then we get the 'spin' to cover it up or blame it on someone else. That is how evil works, which is why our Founders admonished us against preemptive censorship i.e. 'suppression.' Moral and ethical censorship arriving after the fact as a response of conscience is a different matter, since this allows us to identify and punish evil very publicly, arrange society accordingly into a clear moral hierarchy of personal choices, (like having a 'red light district' where immorality is expected to occur), or restrict evil activities to other contained environments, (while still not suppressing its actual speech or self-expression).
ok, this has a "ring of truth" to it. however, you can find contradictions in what truth is is, and when to "expose evil" if something feels good doesn't always make it so, and if something feels evil, it probably is. ! let me think of some pure examples
on the one hand, secret societies and secret combinations are condemned by all the righteous kind of people, see Ezra taft bensens speeches and talks forgotten chapters. and yet Brigham Yound taught that secrets should be Kept and one that would keep a secret is not worth being a member. Did BY actually teach that keeping secrets is a truth of righteousness? and what was his context? however Joseph smith wrote the doctrine that WE should "expose all the works of darkness. and there are secret societies throughout all christianity especially among the women of christianity and Jewish folklore Most notorious being Simon the Sorcerer found in the book of Acts 15.
if i go by the verse of modern revelation found in the doctrine and covenants, not only ARE all elders of (spiritual) Israel supposed to expose works of darkness, but they are suppose to contend against the "church of satan".
12 For there are many yet on the earth among all sects, parties, and denominations, who are blinded by the subtle craftiness of men, whereby they lie in wait to deceive, and who are only kept from the truth because they know not where to find it—13 Therefore, that we should waste and wear out our lives in bringing to light all the hidden things of darkness, wherein we know them; and they are truly manifest from heaven—14 These should then be attended to with great earnestness.
so, whether its keeping a secret of a secret combination or a witch coven, it would be wrong to do so, however even here is the option of whether or not to be in danger of one's life or put the peril of others' lives in jeopardy. as a witness of Jesus Christ, i consecrated my life to be a "witness". i may not have been what i intended, but i am still a living witness of Jesus.
Sacha Baron Cohen knows a little bit about offensive speech. As Borat, he has brought out the racism in a lot of seemingly innocent Americans. So yeah, I do believe that.
Also, the United States Supreme Court decided that in the 1940s.

It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
