should not be restricted to the terminally ill or people with severe disabilities?
i think the doctor has lost it...
The founder of the Swiss assisted suicide clinic Dignitas kicked up a storm after he said he would help a healthy woman die alongside her terminally ill husband.
Ludwig Minelli described suicide as a “marvellous opportunity” that should not be restricted to the terminally ill or people with severe disabilities. Critics said the plans showed risks of proposals to legalise assisted suicides for people in final stages of a terminal illness, the Times reported.
The Dignitas clinic in Zurich claims to have assisted in the deaths of more than 100 Britons. The Zurich University Clinic found that more than a fifth of people who had died at Dignitas did not have a terminal condition.
Minelli said anyone who has “mental capacity” should be allowed to have an assisted suicide, claiming that it would save money for the NHS. He expects to go to the Swiss courts to seek a ruling in the case of a Canadian couple who have made a suicide pact to die together. “The husband is ill, his partner is not ill, but she told us here in my living room that, ‘If my husband goes, I would go at the same time with him’,” he said.

I believe we should all have the choice if we want to live or die.
Everyone has the right to there own opinion.I have just took out 2
prepayment funeral plans for me & my husband it was hard but i have done it so that others do not have to go through the hassle. In 99 my
dad died i was of no use to my mam as i was too wrapped up in myself.
Grief is a terrible thing & sooner or later we all have to deal with losing a loved one.No one has the right to tell some one else what is right or wrong.
I agree with the answerer who says its about money thats why the sooner our government makes euthanasia legal the better I will feel.
While I believe that every-one should have the right to die in dignity instead of being spoon fed while in pain until the bitter end I think the "Marvellous Opportunity" the good Doktor is talking about is his opportunity to make both a Name and lots of Money for himself...
that crab face has lost hes marbles! more reason why mental stablity should be taken into consideration when awarding degrees to these doctors.its just terrible, telling people its ok to put an end to your life if you experience discomforts in life. we are all here to serve a purpose... from our birth to death. serve your purpose and cross into the other world with your head held high!!
I think the innate feeling that one must stay alive no matter what the circumstances are or be negatively judged by his peers stems from our deep fear of death.
im not sure about that
but if the person is suffering and would like to die in peace
... im not sure
life is a gift and should be cherished, sucide should never be an option
We all have a right to our own choices.
