So I have had this whooshing and swishing sound in my ears for years, usually only when I bend over or lay down, goes away in a few min after switching positions. I recently started having these odd drop attacks, which would happen sometimes a few times a day, to a few times a month or months inbetween. I have had a neck and head mri, came out fine and a cardiology workup, echo, monitor, etc. When I first looked up drop attacks I noticed they are a cause of an underlying condition, and the conditions listed were brain, heart, heart and brain, or ears.
Well I'm down to the Ear right now, and am hoping to get in to see an ENT soon. What made me start to think that maybe I have Ménière’s Disease is because when I searched the sound I was hearing it pointed to Tinnitus. So then searched Tinnitus with drop attacks and pointed to Ménière’s Disease.
Any thoughts? I do have balance issues quite a bit as well. The drop attacks I experience usually only last from 30 seconds to a couple of min and my legs come back to normal, it's just a sudden rush of weakness in both legs at the same time. That is the best I can explain it. Any thoughts? Thanks

I have a family member that has this disease. Basically there is a sort of "floating bone" that comes out of place when bends over or shakes her head. It sends her into a sort of seizer but she is aware of what is going on. I am not saying that is what your have but just trying to shed some light on the disease for you from personal experience. It is a rare condition but a specialist should be able to detect it.
Yes, have a friend with menieres, and it took years for her to be diagnosed. It is a very rare condition. Be careful driving cars, my friend is not allowed to hold a license....like people with epilepsy.
