My father is a meth addict and I haven't had contact with him for a few years. I don't anything to do with him. Is it acceptable for my fiancé's best man (who is seriously like his brother) to give me away and walk me down the aisle? Or is that weird?
Update:I don't want*

Sure, if the best man is in possession of your ownership papers. He might have to get them from your dad.
There are no rules or regulations for escorts. You can walk down the aisle with friends or relatives.
In my years of experience, I have witnessed the Bride walking alone . . the Bride walking down the aisle with her Mother and future Mother-in-Law . . and the Bride walking down the aisle with her two best friends who were also in the wedding party.
There is nothing weird or awkward about this.

What's wrong with your mom?
Go for it. I honestly dont think my father will make it to mine. By the time I get married he will be 65 and smoked for the vast majority of those years. I'd try for the relative you are closest to first but if that falls through there is absolutely nothing wrong with having the best man give you away other than you leave the grooms party one man short.
