A “Fiance” visa for my friend??
I live in California. I have a friend who lives in Malaysia. She wants to visit me here in the USA. I am told that a “fiancé” visa is the simplest and the cheapest way. She can visit up to 90 days. We are not getting married, and she will be returning home after 3 weeks. Has anyone done this before? How did you do it? What difficulties did you experience?
No I am not a pervert. She is my friend, and I love her as a sister. I want her to come and meet my friends. I am taking her to Seaworld, and some other cool places.
Update:Like visiting SeaWorld is some kind of crime!

It is niether cheap nor easy and if they catch you it is a massive fine and hard time in the Federal Jail for both of you.
What you need is a B2 Visa. It may cost about $600 which is way cheaper and shorter than the I-130. Unless she has the same assets as an American in the upper middle class here (not equivalent SAME) she will NOT get a tourist Visa. Moving money into her account will also not work. She'll need a minimum of some real property (not a bamboo shack) and at least $25,000 in local currency in the local bank. ANd they will verify that at the Embassy and make sure that it ididn't just show up yesterday.
Sorry to sound hard but I am extremely familiar with what I am talking about. Can you give some more details like waht does her asset situation really look like? Also if you are not even planning to marry and bring her here then later change your mind with her or another woman it will come back to haunt you.
It can take a year to get a fiance visa. Plus you have to prove you have sufficient income and assets to support the fiance and guarantee a $30,000 bond. Since you have no intention of marrying her, you are not going to be able to prove you have a valid long-term relationship and intentions of a permanent marriage. Do not attempt this!
She will have to apply for a tourist visa and prove she purchased a round-trip plane ticket, and has sufficient funds for all the "typical tourist" things. She will need a letter from her emplolyer detailing the dates of her scheduled vacation time. She has to prove she has every intention of returning home on time, compelling reasons mandating her return, such as property ownership, caring for elderly parents who are dependent on her, a child at home, something.
Be careful you do not pay for her ticket or otherwise "help" her or immigration authorities will think you two are another among the very common cases of people intending to marry and doing it on a tourist visa to avoid the hassles and lengthy processing of getting a fiance visa.
Cheap? I guess that depends on your definition of the word cheap. You'll easily spend $1,000 (plus the cost of the plane tickets) and it will take a minimum of a year, more likely closer to 18 months for her to get the visa.
Actually if caught doing that you could face prison time, you would be lying to the government and most importantly wasting resources.
If you want her to come here for whatever reason, just sponsor her as an employer. Make sure you sponsor her for a legitimate reason, and PAY her for her time served.
