A brass cube, 10 cm on a side, is raised in temperature by 200C. The coefficient of volume expansion of brass is 57 106/C. By what percentage is any one of the 10-cm edges increased in length?

simple.let final volume of cube =v2,intial volume=v1, coefficient of volume expansion = g
v2=v1[ 1 + g(temp. raise) ]
by putting the given values, we get v2 =1011.4 cc., therfore final side length = cubeth root of 1011.4, we get it approximately as 9.8 cm.
( i used v1= 1000 cc as side was 10 cm) final length =9.8
change in length = 0.2, initial length = 10cm therefore %age of change in length to original length = 0.2 *100/10 = 2%
