∑x^2 vs (∑x^2) difference?
I'm struggling to understand the difference between the two.
For my class we have to find both of these and I can get the second answer but when it comes to the first I have no idea how to find it.
∑x= 278 so ( ∑x^2) is = 77284. How would one go about finding ∑x^2?
Update:I completely messed up where I put the () I meant (∑x)^2 for the second equation!

You'd have to square each number first, and then add them up. If all you know is the numbers' sum, you can't find ∑x^2.
