just beware if you plan to carry a balance: These credit cards associated with stores (and I do not mean the store cards, I mean the MC, VI and AX, etc) usually have a quite high APR (interest rate), so always pay the total (or as often as possible) and needless to say always pay on time. Not only it hits your score, I would think the late payment fee is also high

Any history of paying a credit card on time and in full will build your credit score gradually...Takes at least 12 months.
