Who is asking you to deliver it? It sounds like the pay is too high, unless it is a state or two away. I'd be suspicious and question them as to what it is you will be carrying. Tell them that you want to know so that if it is something dangerous, you will handle it more carefully. Based on what they tell you, you should have some idea whether it is something legal or not.

I would say no a regular currier would be way less I would suspect something lllegal
since the sender could arrange a courier to do it for far less then you would have to assume whats in it aint exactly within the bounds of legality
You ought to be able to deliver a small package in England for maybe 40 pounds, so you figure it out.
I would just bring it to the post office and pocket the change :p
