Why don’t we reward cash payouts to people for good behavior instead of arresting people for bad crimes?
A married with kids 46 year old guy could have had a lewd inappropriate text chat with a precocious 13yo girl home alone on the internet but he didn’t show up at the house,
So wouldn’t this be rewarded? Why is this not responded with a check for $500?

A guy who bought a gun and could have had every opportunity to kill people but he was a responsible 2nd amendment snider
Or a guy could have run over a little endangered animal but he slammed the brakes

That still leaves you with the problem of what to do with those who choose to break the law.
If I steal your car, that means I don't get the $500, but I still get a car, right?
If I beat you to death, I don't get $500, but you are dead.
What's to stop me from doing it again, unless you arrest me and lock me up?
🥴 As nice as that would be, it wouldn't last long before ppl messed that up too.
You may not have shot someone or diddled someones daughter, but you turn around and spend your prize money on booze, drugs and ho3s. You OD, die of liver cancer or contract an std. 😄 What a waste.
Point being, money is a great motivator but won't stop overall ppl with bad tendencies.
We shouldn’t have to pay people to act civilized. But I don’t think we should spend money to incarcerate them either. I would gladly support the release of the majority of inmates on the condition they reside in California.
