I always thought it was the opposite. Pathetic when a guy loves a girl but can't get over the fact that she's not into him but kind of sad when a girl is in that position.
Hell if a girl liked me i'd like her back.. With what your saying though its not pathetic and neither is it the other way its just hopeless as neither will succeed.
