What others think is all about the way they perceive you or judge. You might be good to someone else where as bad to some other person. There is a quote which goes like "reputation is something, that ppl think/feel about you but, character is what you are when nobody is watching you" So your real you, only you will know .
" can you see the real me?" There is a duality that goes on within each of us. We have the persona that is painted on the out side. This is the image we have of ourselves. Like a peacocks feathers, we use this image to present our selves to the world around us. Its from what we out into this image that others get their expectations of us, which is often very different to the image we hope they see.
as for the deeper sense of self, its not so much as who you feel you are but more a case of what you know yourself to be. When we connect to this sense of self, the other sense of self becomes irrelevant.
That which you think you are, that which you know you are, and that which is doing you as well as the doing.
What people think about you is what they think is the real you, and what you think about yourself is the real you. How do the two interact? Conflict, or agree?
I have also come across this issue when imaging the future when a "person" can circulate different forms or appearances, how will they know this is the "real me?"
That depends on how accurate your perceptions are of yourself or their perceptions of you. Seeing as we don't know you, we will never be able to answer your question.

I think your real self is somewhere in the middle of who you think you are and who others think you are.
