Tenebrism makes exaggerated use of shadow. That technique was perfected by Rembrandt...
Lol. People crack me up sometimes. now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that you should pull guard in a real fight. However, it's just a load of crap to say that rough terrain negates grappling techniques. I've fought on the ground on a granite surface. Everything I learned worked pretty fine. Mind you, I was on top (since that's where the better grappler will be). So if the ground was affecting anyone, it was my opponent. (Why are some people foolish enough to think that being on cement will suddenly mean that they won't get taken down?) Against my will, I had been mounted in a real fight (this was a few years ago, before I even know any ground stuff). This was on a sidewalk and with the adrenaline going, I wouldn't have even noticed a difference between the concrete and a puzzle mat. Then again, I've noticed that most people who think that groundfighting is immediately rendered ineffective by hard surfaces are also the people who think that biting, crotch shots, etc are the ultimate techniques. The multiple opponent factor is the only valid argument against grappling. In a 1 on 1 fight, the hard surface, blah blah blah favors the grappler, hes he'll be on top. And I'd also like to mention that I'm not some kind of BJJ nuthugger. I haven't been training grappling NEARLY as long as I've been training striking, nor do I favor grappling to striking (I like them evenly). But still, I try not to let chauvinism cloud my judgement. I used to spout BS about why grappling wouldn't work because of blah blah blah. Thankfully, I wisened up and I'm a much better/well-rounded fighter for it. Anyways, Judomofo for president!
Rembrandt best exemplifies this technique.
