i live in england, and i just recently brought a maxi dress from new long; a halterneck; satin material; and sort of browny, orangey colours :)
i absolutely love it.. but i don't know where i can wear it?
it's summer at the moment. i'd would wear it out like everyday :P although it looks quite dressy i guess (i probably should have thought about this before i actually bought it.. but hey nevermind) so i don't think i would wear it like to town or shopping?
i am taking it on holiday - to florida - because it will be perfect for over there hopefully, well some days :)
but then in england.. hmph.. i don't want to look overdressed!
and even with gladiator sandals, a handbag, sunglasses, and big jewellery (that's usually what i would wear with it) it looks too dressy still?

how long is it? If it is floor length, then its hard to pull off in day, i think. If its a few inches above the ground then length is good! If you dont want to look too dressy, scrap all items of jewellery, and choose an understated handbag, brown leather sling bag, nothing too bling ish or anything. have messy hair, plain make up, a fedora hat, or trilby, some plain leather sandals perhaps, and done! If you still feel uncomfortable/dressy, dont wear it, and save it for beach/holiday occasions - nothing worse than feeling silly.
Theres lods of people here that just wear them shopping around town, if you go out for dinner with like frends or family?
it will also be great on holiday,
i wouldnt worry about it looking too dressy with everything since when you wear it into town shopping you wont look to dressy, aslo you could wear it to the beach over a bikini,
new look had some lovely maxi dresses this year, i would have bought one but didnt have the money until now, when the ones i wanted had gone :(
