what is heat capacity?
so i am figuring that 47.6j=q the heat
13.6g=m the mass
but idk what the temp change is or deltaT is for the initial and final temp. help?
The temp change is 1.76 C. We don't care what it started at or ended at, just how much.
47.6 J = (13.6 g) (1.76 C) (x)
x = 1.99 J/g C
The statement "its temperature rises by 1.76 C" means delta-T is 1.76. That's the change of temperature. You don't need the initial and final, you're given the delta.
