I think there are different ways to vent. Maybe picking one trustworthy person would be different to vent to, but venting to each individual you run into could be toxic. Also, maybe you choose to vent in writing, or music. I find journals very helpful.

I think venting is healthy. It keeps you from causing bodily harm to the person who upset you!

Venting is just saying, okay. Here's what this person's doing and it's driving me insane.

Talking behind someone's back is saying, oh my gosh, this person is driving me nuts and she needs to die and spread this rumor. :)
