That all the things that are "just the way it is" and "common sense" vary more widely than your wildest imagination which should be a pretty big hint that there's no "one true way."
That there is no such thing as someone winning a war. We all lose when we go to war. it is hard to say which is the most important one. Live and let live , is important , if people would just take care of their selves and be kind and helpful and not care if someone is a different color or does not think like them ,and just be happy that we were ever born on this beautiful earth, then we all could be happy. But humans are full of defects. They can't help themselves the majority are power hungry, money hungry sick demented and those are the better ones . Humans were doomed from from their beginning .......we didn't and don't stand a chance of survival.
I think the biggest thing history has taught us is that we never learn from history. We make the same stupid mistakes over and over. And then historians say (in retrospect, of course) "Gosh, that was just like when that other thing happened before! We should have seen it coming this time!"
