As an aside would this not be considered the worst form of chatting if a member ask this question. This is why the site is practically useless now all the stuff that is allowed that has nothing to do with anything.
Too bad though it is an excellent concept if you just rid the site of children which you could do in app. 1/2 of a millionth of a second by eliminating 3/4 of the categories.
Whilst this isn't exactly advise, it's more a lesson I've learned from simply being a member of the site.
I learned that everybody goes through similar things in life, that when it boils down to it, we're all human. In the real world it can seem as though you're the only one with a particular problem or that you're some alien being - clueless to the lives of others. However, since joining this site I've realized just how similar everyone is.
I an not so sure about the most useful advice," but"
my gain has been to realise that there is always someone out there to respond
Whatever the question or the anwser, just knowing you are apart of a grope of people from so many parts of the globe, for me is the best thing that happend to me this year,,
When i am down and confused about anything i ask a question ,if i feel sad i and lonesome i anwser a question ,sometimes i read my contacts Q/A and laugh so much it is unbelievable i have gained so much information about life outside of my world and a whole new outlook on other cultures ,i feel Yahoo has given me a voice.
For me the points are just a bonus, in fact i could say my life has changed in more ways than one, i could go on and on.
"yes" THANK YOU YAHOO!. and a Merry Christmas to you all.. I am sure the New Year will bring some wonderful changes,
Oh my, I can't even begin to explain how much Y!A has helped me. While many people complain that they don't get good help here I definitely have to disagree. I don't really think I can choose one, because every time I come here with a question, I usually search it first and then if it isn't there, ask.
There's tons of amazing stuff I have learned here, but I guess the best this year was when my toilet was clogged and I didn't have plunger. I had guests coming over and I really didn't want to greet them with a clogged toilet. I came here in a hurry and sure enough, there was an amazing answer there to help me :)
And well the list goes on and on, from homemade masks to help hydrate my skin (which by the way worked amazing) to just good products to buy, to help fixing my computer, Y!A is definitely my number one source for everything. You guys are great, keep up the good work!
The most useful advice that i've gotten from yahoo answers community this year was how to deal with my husband and he ineffectually . In addition i made a lot friends right here on yahoo answers.
The most useful advice was how to participate in Amtgard, but Answers has helped me in other ways too.
I learned a lot. I learned how to act in online groups like this. I learned how to do things in Amtgard, a Live Action Role-Playing (LARP) game. I even got a friend who's willing to answer all the questions I have about Amtgard!
I also learned a lot of random stuff just by surfing: lyrics to songs, good musical artists, how to play games, and all kinds of stuff. It's been awesome, and I'm so glad I found it!
I've been a member only just yesterday... I've read almost all of the categories, answered some of those questions hoping it could make any help... and i think i found a questions to ask right now.. =) but browsing through questions and answers posted... i got informed bout the photography I am also getting inclined to... and was that the mental health? I found that there are some who will just make a joke on some of the serious question asked by somebody but still you can find a helpful, meaningful and thoughtful answer... this is great! why i shouldn't been here before!=) hope i could get a good help to my new questions as well! thanks guys! happy anniversary!!
I got excellent, compassionate advice in the People with Disabilities section regarding my 10 year old daughter who has severe cognitive impairments, broad spectrum autism, and mild cerebral palsy.
It is very hard to be a regular everyday person and be forced into a caregivers role unexpectedly, yet that's what has happened to me and through it all I wouldn't trade her for any other "normal" child.
The people that answer in that section provide wonderful assistance: knowledge from experience, compassion and resources that are top-notch. I'm glad I found that part of Y!A.
Let's see... I'm quite a short person (5'1'') and I posted up a question here when I was feeling low and everyone made me cheer up right away and they gave me some pretty awesome advice and stories. I believe one of them said that shortness isn't a curse, it's a gift... or something like that. I don't know, but I do love the Y!A community with all my heart! Or at least the nice ones... :)

Information on organizations that can re-use my Father's prosthesis (an artificial leg) after he passed away.
Although they are custom made and quite expensive, my Mother hated the idea of throwing something that expensive away.
We got several leads on organizations that rebuild them or re-use the parts, that can put it to good use!
Although I did delete the question due to some of the rude comments, not before saving the information from all of the useful answers.
