Is democracy in danger of becoming extinct? Doesn’t the herd mentality assimilate the many, anyway?
It’s like – people have free will so that they can annihilate their own free will and the wills of others?! Get my point? Will this devolve or mutate into a new communism?
Herd mentality may draw in the multitudes, but the leaders of those multitudes normally stand apart from the herd. So while there may be little surges, rushes or stampedes in one direction or another, ultimately the herd will be guided back to the center. So no, democracy isn't in danger of becoming extinguished.

It's already half way to extinction and instead of a new form of communism, I would call it Bushinism.
