A Kaufhaus is like a departement store, bigger one's are like malls.
In Frankfurt you can find them in down town. Look for the streets : Zeil,
Gallusstrasse, Berliner Strasse, Kaiserstrasse.
I never got a chance to go shopping in Frankfurt, so I can't tell you about that. We just went through it by train. But, "kaufhaus" means "department store." If you ever see it somewhere else, "Kauf" means "shop" and "kaufen" is the verb "to shop." My experience in Europe has shown me that wandering off of the main tourist areas will save you a lot of money. It's fun to just wander around and check out various shops, too. You can also ask the front desk people at the hotel about it, since they are local. Local people will give you the best advice.
Hope that helps a little bit!
Kaufhaus refers to a department store e.g. KaDeWe in Berlin.

It means Department Store.
I've been to Frankfurt Am Main before, and you find DSs nearly everywhere.
Saturn is a good place, although it's an electronic store.
I haven't been there in a few months, so I don't remember all the names. Try Google.de :)
