It's my new niece's name. My sister came up with it because she loves Cho Chang from Harry Potter and she likes the letter 'é'.
Pronounced 'cho-day'.
I think it sounds sophisticated and French.
Update:No Brazen, her middle name is Idina, in memory of our grandmother. God rest her soul.

I vote no...it's very close to a very unappetizing slang term, which she will surely be called in junior high and high school.
ETA: I see I'm not the only person who thought of this immediately. On the off, off chance you're not trolling, please convince your sister to change her daughter's name, or at least call her by her middle (assuming it's not Phallika or Penise or something).
I understand her decision to name the kid whatever she wants so I am not going to say it's a bad name..
but she cannot like the letter " é "
In the english language, there is no such thing as an accent mark, really. So the letter é should not be used. This is why I do not understand why people are now suddenly choosing to name their children names with this "letter" in them.
It just doesn't make sense. Chloe is similiar and would be okay.
For the sake of your sister's child.
Look at the links above us.
Change the spelling! Have the same pronunciation (Sho-Day)
Have it spelled Shode (accent mark over the e) Or Shoday, Choday.
There are many other names too: Chloe, Cho, Chanel.
Good Luck on your name hunt!
Congratulations to your sister's baby!
Bet she's a cutie!
Oh my. Why didn't she just use Cho lol. Does she realize what the word actually means? Maybe she should go by Cho or her middle name :)
It has an accent on the E, when spelling her name, most people will miss this accent out and the name will be left 'chode' It's not a name, it's a slang term you wouldn't want for your niece.
I admit that I laughed reading it, but she will get teased about this name.
I like it, but I prefer Chloe.
I think the pronounciation Sho-day is better.
It's a really nice name, Chodé Idina. Really girly and feminine!
Make sure people don't pronounce it Chode. Without the 'day'.
Did she make the name up? What's the meaning?
So my answer is: I think it's a really nice name, and what it is named after is cool, the middle name inc!
:)

I personally think Cody is a much nicer name. I agree with the second person who said the stuff about the other way people can perceive it. He will be made fun of. But theres nothing you can do now right?
Oh my goodness! Is this a joke? Isn't that a slang term for a dirty woman's vagina?
AHHHHH HAHAHA! I feel soooo sorry for someone who's actually named that.
yeah i'd have to veto on that one. It's spelled identical to the word for a small dick.
i don't like it at all and i think that the poor kid will get made fun of
