YEAA they prob want the free feelin outside of sch my sch has a big park and its filled with trees its the perfect place to escape the stress and a place to be free so if ur friends don't smoke or if they aren't bad then don't worrie be cool
I don't know how old you are but obviously old enough to go outside of school after lunch ended without a teacher or supervisor. So I'm guessing high school-ish? I have no idea.
Anyways, be careful. They might not have just wanted to 'talk' to you. They could have decided to lure you outside and then r#pe you. (but then you said they're girls. but maybe they were lesbians) - So probably to jump you. The reasons are endless. It's a good thing you DID NOT go with them. Who knows what could have happened. & Do you know them? As in, are they close friends or someone you talk to on a daily basis? Or just some kids who you go to school with?

They probably just wanted to get out and talk. I do it all the time.
