Russia, Canada, Denmark (Greenland), & the United States (Alaska). Russia, incidentally, has been the 1st 2 put a capsuled flag on the ocean floor on the N. Poll, & Denmark may supposedly b the closest 2 the pole if there is a underwater mountain chain that extends from the north of Greenland.
It's either the northern tip of Ellesmere Island, which is part of Canada, or the northern tip of Greenland, which belongs to Denmark. However, to be technical, it would have to be Canada, because Greenland is not part of Denmark, just a possession. As for the South Pole, not counting Antarctica which belongs to several countries, it would have to be Chile, which has land south of Tiera del Fuego in Argentina.
