Try a head and hair massage, take olive oil and a drop or two of essential oil (peppermint, lavender, rosemary, etc.) and massage it into your hair and scalp, stick a shower cap on their for an hour and rinse it out.
First answerer is right about mayo. Slather your dry hair with cheap mayo and wrap your hair in plastic and then a heated towel. Leave it in for about 30 minutes and then wash and condition as usual. You may have to wash twice to get all the mayo out. Finish up with a cool water rinse for extra shiny hair.
