The coronavirus is going around, people are going crazy, companies are either closing down or rescheduling their employees to where they pretty much don't have a job anymore.
My wife was told by her boss that the company (retail) she works for is closing down for the next 3-4 weeks. There's a lack of income.
And, on top of that, I just got fired from my crappy retail job.
What do I do?
I have 3 kids to take care of and, from what i've seen, almost no place is hiring.
It just seems like nothing is going right lately.
What do I do? How are we supposed to get by?

File for unemployment.
Live off your emergency fund for the next few weeks.
Either you or your spouse should get a job delivering groceries; the other has to be a full-time parent now that schools are closed.
If things get really desperate, skip your rent or mortgage payment. They can't kick you out during the quarantine. But you will have to deal with the consequences after things go back to normal.
Your problem is that you keep having more children without bothering to acrue the skills for a better paying, more secure job.
Three years ago, you were asking if you should use a credit card to pay for a tattoo. A year later you had produced another baby. You haven't any impulse control. Plenty of places need stock people these days, but undoubtedly, you'll be fired from there eventually, too.
Maybe your wife can use birth control so the two of you don't conceive another child while you're both unemployed.
Why'd you get fired? You could have trouble finding another job in any economy. Look, despite the shutdowns. If you haven't got money to tie you over for 3-4 weeks, then you have made some very bad decisions in your life. Get out and look for a job and your wife should see if she can find something temporarily or seasonally.
Apply for unemployment and see if you might be eleigible - will depend on what you got fired for. Your wife will most likely be eligible. Apply for food stamps.
Sit down, watch one of those really bad futuristic movies, were the world has been destroyed by something. You'll see what you need to do, what to prepare for.
You both file for unemployment. In my area, grocery stores are doing immediate hiring with no background checks, etc. for people to stock shelves, cashier, etc. So you both go get those jobs right away. Yes, they might not last long term, but in the immediate it would be something.
You immediately strip your living down to the basics. Yes, you will get tired of peanut butter sandwiches and pasta, but those are cheap ways to feed your family. Cancel your cable (bad timing with people at home a lot, but if it’s what you need to do, then it’s what you do), switch over to a prepaid calling plan, and go back to basics.
And you figure out how you and the wife can get some better jobs so you aren’t living paycheck to paycheck with three dependent children.
No worries. Checks will be in the mail soon. Evictions have been halted. Have more kids you can't afford and go totally on the public dime.
You both file for unemployment right away. Your wife will get it, you may have some explaining to do. Find the food pantries in your area and use them. Cut out any unnecessary expenses. Can you cut back your cell phone plan? Drop cable or satellite TV? Cut back your driving to a minimum so you don't waste gas.
Mature adults with responsibilities like three children are supposed to have emergency savings accounts with three to six months worth of income stashed away.
If you live paycheck to paycheck and kept having kids with no savings, I have no clue how you sleep at night.
Yes, this whole economic situation SUCKS EGGS. I've never seen anything like it in my life. But it's not the next 3-4 weeks I'm worried about. It's next year and the year after and retirement.
Borrow money from family and friends.
This is exactly why you should have an emergency savings account.😉
