I ask this because, my unbiased perception of it seems like a very warlike religion with much emphasis placed on martyrdom and places reserved for Islamic warriors in the after life. I mean, there are surely some aspects of peace love and happiness in the Qu’ran, but you got to admit, when you compare it to other religions, it does go on about war, vengeance and defending the holy land a fair bit. Oh and there’s a fair bit about keeping wives faithful as well.
BTW, I can’t read the Qu’ran because I get physically ill when I try to read religious texts. I’ll show a note form my doctor if you don’t believe me.

There is a lot more to Quran then just wars! Muslims are allowed to attack ONLY in self-defense as it clearly states in the Quran. Prophet Mohammad was constantly attacked during that period and the Quran shows the correct way to fight, i.e. after all peaceful solutions are used and the enemy attacks first.
Whats wrong about keeping wive faithful? Would you rather Quran have the Western lifestyle where cheating is rampant?
The Prophet (peace be upon him) was appointed as the last messenger of God at the age 40, and he spent 23 years to spread the message of Islam and he (peace be upon him) died soon after God revealed that he (peace be upon him) had perfected Islam as the last religion of God. So, NO, the Prophet did not spend most of his life in wars and contrary to the popular and false belief, the Prophet did not cause those wars but rather he brought peace to the warring pagan tribes of Arabia. I am muslim and I don't remember any wars going on with prophet Muhammed except for the war that the Christians started by throwing rocks at him while he wa trying to say.
You need not plead so much....they are supposed to explain it, because they say, that there is no book greater than quran.
Its their responsibility.
If you can't READ the Qu'ran, how do you seem to "KNOW" so much about it??
