I was reading an iTunes (official) review for the artist MNDR, and it mentioned that the song "Feed me Diamonds" was so named because the artist Marina Abramović's father was assassinated by being fed diamonds. I was intrigued and tried to go find more details on this, but searches for Vojo Abramović pretty much only reference him as Marina's father and a war hero. An interview with MNDR however said that Marina had previously made statements about kings being killed by being force-fed diamonds for their excesses, and MNDR liked the metaphor so much that she ran with it. Does anyone know the history here or read Cyrillic and can do the research that I can't? :)

I have the biography of Marina Abramovic by James Westcott and it doesn't mention anything about powdered diamonds when her fathers death is covered.
Apparently he had been ill for some time and had no money, Marina cannot forgive herself because she ignored his final pleas for help.
