Was it weird for me not to drink on New Year’s Eve?

I went out with my friend to the nightclub and bar on New Year’s Eve last night but there was one problem. I wasn't not allowed to drink because I am on antibiotics and taking medication to get over my illness so I couldnt drink! My friend wasn’t too happy about that and said I was no fun to be around but however, my other friend said it was cool and that I didnt have to drink and still could have fun without drinking. I was the only one who didnt drink last night and I felt left out!

The same thing happened last year where I felt peer pressured to drink and people kept saying: “OH COME ON! ITS NEW YEAR’S EVE! DRINK FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!” And I told them I am fine and still having fun and they called me a party pooper because I didn’t drink!

So what should I do about this? Everyone was bothering me and putting pressure on me to drink but I didn’t want to drink because I would get sick from being on my antibiotics and would drink if I could. I didn't feel cool enough to go out and not drink.

What should I do? How am I ever going to meet a girl who accepts me for not drinking and just being sober? All the girls I met are always questioning me when I am not drinking and asking: “UM WHY AREN’T YOU DRINKING?! LET ME BUY YOU A SHOT!” And I would tell them no thanks and they would make fun of me and call me a boring creep for not drinking at all!

So was it weird for me to go out to the bar with my friend but not getting a drink? Should I be allowed out when I am not drinking? I felt left out last night and had a terrible night just being my sober boring self but it was better than staying home and not hanging out. But everyone was expecting me to drink last night!
