I think it's worth every penny, although the wages they pay to top "celebs" annoys me. Jonathon Ross, Chris Moyles and the like hsouldn't be getting wages worth millions of pounds a year paid by the licence payer.
The real quality of the BBC shines through on it's top quality documentaries like Planet Earth. I think it should concentrate on programmes of that quality rather than fluff TV like SCD and HITW. Leave that to ITV.
I also like the fact that I can watch quality TV without having to turn the channel over every five minutes after been asked for the millionth time if I've had an accident and was someone else to blame!
Well, I know the point you are making here, and I sometime think the BBC should be better and it's far from perfect.
However, I pay £21 a month - (£252 a year) for Sky digital and I don't think that gives me anywhere near the same value as the Beeb licence. It's full of complete garbage, mostly imported Yanky rubbish and reruns. They produce very little in the way of dramas. And as for sport, well what used to be free years ago is now pay per match! All the boxing used to be on the telly free once, till Murdoch stuck his oar in and made us all pay - not once (for the sports channel), but twice for the big venue. Sky is a rip off! You have to remember also, the licence fee gives you:
* NO ADVERTS
* REGIONAL NEWS AND WEATHER
* FREE BBC IPLAYER TO WATCH ANYTHING YOU MISSED FOR A MONTH AFTER MISSING IT. Can't ever see Sky bothering with that!
It is no way worth that.It seems to get worse on a weekend,Strictly come dancing,Dale Winton.There is very little I watch on BBC,Top Gear and Bruce Parry (Tribe,Amazon).Match of the day seems to be getting worse for the so called experts to slag off their least favourite team/footballer.Don't get me started on Chris Moyles' trip abroad,paid for by us. You've set me off now...
As already indicated in the newspaper report, higher ranking royal children do not receive personal bodyguards (i.e. Zara & Peter Phillips) who are higher up in line to the throne than Beatrice & Eugenie. If the newspaper reports are to be believed, then I think the "girls" in question need to become more responsible. Yes, we have all been children at some stage who liked to "feel their feet" but had to curtail our "nightlife" due to financial circumstances. How about Andrew paying for his children's bodyguard salaries ?
The beeb is alright. I just wish they wouldn't hand out such huge amounts of money to people like Jonathan Ross. His wages would probably fund a whole lot of other programming.

The £139.50 fee is a licence fee for you to operate a TV receiver not specifically for you to watch the BBC television programmes.
The question you should be asking is "Does the BBC deserve to receive all of the licence fee money collected"?

Dale Winton dressed in jeans with an elasticated waist, a brown belt and a polo shirt. Presenting a show called "Hole in the Wall". Wtf.
Any innuendo-related jokes, please fire away at any time.

No. The only half decent think they show is TopGear. And those guys are being ridiculously paid large sums of money.
Nope. Trouble is, even when you don't have a tv you still get threatening letters through the door saying you must! Bullies...
i really do like the bbc but i dont think its worth that much.
