What is keeping the axis up at 23 degrees?
Would the weather drastically change upon the Earth? Would we have lots of cyclones as the weather patterns go crazy, heath waves in summer, freezing temperatures and famines in winter, and forest fires and droughts in extremely hot summers. Would the polar ice melt faster?
Could this apocalyptic scenario happen in the near future?

- There is nothing to keep the axis at 23 degrees, there doesn't have to be. Why would the tilt of the axis change all by itself? Because of the angular momentum of the earth, it would take a lot of force to even shift the axis. The axis itself does change and wobble a little bit on its own, due a phenomena called precession. This doesn't alter the angle of the axis, only the orientation.
- Winters and summers would be more intense. Subsequently, there would probably be more extreme weather phenomena such as hurricanes, heat waves and freezing winters.
- I can't say if polar ice will melt faster. It all depends on how the weather patterns are disrupted. Changes to the major ocean currents will most certainly have an influence on the polar caps.
- This won't happen. And if ever, it wouldn't happen for a very, very long time. There is simply no reason for the axis of the earth to suddenly shift by 10 degrees. The only thing that could make that happen is a collision with a small-sized planet or large moon. There are no such planets in our solar system which could venture into earths orbit. And even if that happens we probably have other more important things to worry about than the weather.
There would be more difference between winters and summers (regarding temperature).
What keeps the earth's axis tilted at 23 degrees is simple momentum. Like a gyroscope.
And yes, polar ice would melt more.
But no, the tilt of the axis won't change.
The North and South Poles would change location . The Weather would be interesting .
