We found the train much more convenient and fun. It turns out our friends who insisted on taking a taxi from their flight, which arrived about an hour after ours, spent more than an hour stuck in traffic jams while we had checked into our hotel and were already strolling around and discovering the neighborhood. I know we paid less than €10 for our train tickets but I forget how much exactly.
Unless you have allot of luggage to deal with, the train would probably be allot less expensive then a taxi.
If you do take a taxi, be sure to ask the driver how much it will cost and how long the ride should be.
Many years ago, my husband, son and I took a taxi from the airport in Paris to our hotel near the left bank.
i don't know why my husband didn't speak up because he could see that the driver was taking us for a ride around the city and ripping us off.( we went around the city a couple of times in a circle)
My husband lived in Paris in the 1970's and should of spoken up, our fare was over $90. USD and this was back in 1986.
I don't think it would be a problem to know how much it should cost before getting into the cab.
If you have lots of money, you can take a taxi from Charles de Gaulle to the Champs Elysées. it is VERY expensive. And as the previous person said, there can be traffic jam.
Take a train ticket. It is cheaper. The train's name is RER. There are many different RER. From Charles de Gaulle Airport, it's RER B in direction of Châtelet-Les Halles. Then, you can take RER A to Charles de Gaulle-Etoile (there is the Arc de Triomphe, where the Champs Elysées start to run from).
all of the guidebook solutions are commonly nicely suited -- different than for the prepare. it particularly is an exceptionally unsightly thank you to start your stay and a actual complication with bags. The lodge you pick will recommend an airport pickup provider. it particularly is often a van which you will or won't share with others, reckoning on schedules. it particularly is around $40 5 pp yet you may get a smash as a pair. particularly nicely worth it. Re place to stay -- except you're 50+ and rich, stay in the Maraiss, St. Germain or Latin Quarter. they're wonderful, handy, and function many ideal resorts. be careful to not be tempted with greater value-efficient costs in the outer districts. regardless of the Metro, you do not want to spend all some time in transit. attempt a tidy, nicely placed decrease priced place like the Agora or LaFamilia and splurge on a evening cruise on the Seine which you will remember all your life.
