I have purposely avoided seeing many of the hockey movies that have been made due to the probability that seeing Sodapop Curtis, The guy from Ghost and Theodore "Ted" Logan on skates sounds like a cluster F to me... BUT are their any good hockey movies out there aside from Mighty Ducks and Slap shot? (excluding documentaries)
Update:Hey Lone star.. Any idea if that comes in english dvd?
Update 3:Also I think eddy the eagle was in the van dam one
Update 5:Also I think eddy the eagle was in the van dam one

NearMiss = it should, just adjust the settings on the screen when you put it in I watch it in French but when I showed it to my students. I had no problem getting the english subtitles on for them or for the lower-level students english audio with french subtitles
There was also a really good movie on Maurice Richard a couple years ago

Hope you enjoy them both !!
Oh crap how can we forget Mystery, Alaska ???
ps. Wasn't that Sean Avery knitting socks in MVP ?
Oy vey .. looks like Jack already has his playoff beard
As you can all imagine, my favourite part of Sudden Death was VanDamme and Robitaille chatting it up in french
The Mighty Ducks trilogy is definitely the best hockey movies ever made. I remember watching the second one every day when I was younger during my summer vacation. I could tell, and I'm sure I still can, every line before they said it.
As HabsFan said, Les Boys are good ones. I really like the first and fourth one. There's also Bon Cop Bad Cop, it's not about hockey, but its hockey related since all of the victims were/are involved in hockey. It is, for sure, a movie that you should see, its so freaking funny.
Mystery Alaska was really good. Watch it.
Sudden Death was pretty cheesy. It was about how the vice president went to a Penguin game and some freak tries bombing the Mellon Arena (Civic Arena at the time). It was corny, it had some hockey, and it wasted a couple of hours for me.
Miracle and The Rocket are good ones. Here is a list of more hockey movies.Click on the movie and it will give a description of it.

I can't believe no one's said Slapshot yet. Best hockey movie of all time. Though those others are pretty good too.
