I was on a highway marked 55 mph. I was traveling at 60 mph with small fluxes between 60 to 65 mph. I was pulled over by a cop who told me I was speeding at 71 mph. He has written down on my speeding ticket 3 different locations. Jackson run, miller hill and mckowns, therefore which location was it? He wrote down a distance of 0.017 miles and 0.96 seconds. There were no white lines or anything indicating certain distances. How does the officer know what distance was traveled? I also calculated speed using s = d/t. After using the formula I calculated my "speed" to be 63 Mph. I have no idea where the officer came up with 71 Mph as how fast I was traveling.. Next near my signature he dated it 5/20/20.. near his signature he wrote the correct date of 5/24/20. The dates not being the same is that evidence to throw the ticket out? He wrote me a ticket of going 65 mph in a 55mph.. he also wrote down self as the speed timing device operator. I was curious if A the ticket would still be valid bc the numbers he listed from the robic stopwatch distance and time from my calculation is 63 Mph not 65Mph. B. I wanted to know if it would still be valid since he wrote down an incorrect date the incident occurred near my signature. I know it's kinda confusing! I hope someone can give me advice. Thank you!

They don't need lines on the road to know the distance between fixed points. ANYTHING can serve as a fixed point, including roadside signs, trees, utility poles, guardrails, etc. Even potholes can serve as fixed points.
Well, with the info given it’s 63.767, but that’s way more precision than is in anyway real. It is, though, more than 10% over the limit, so you were clearly in violation.
The citation can (and will) be amended to correct clerical errors.
I don’t know the place where this happened, but it probably isn’t three locations. It’s probably something like “on Jackson Run, cross road Miller Hill, near McKowns (a store) or in (the Town of) McKowns.
After doing some map searching, I see that Jackson Run Rd and Miller Hill Rd intersect in Conewango Township. Is that where you were? I don't see a McKown Rd or a business called McKowns near there, but it seems to be a not-rare last name in the region, so for all I know you were stopped in front of the McKowns' house.
